Since leaving school teaching, Kathryn has been busily involved in building a range of
nationwide activities, mainly singing, directing, peripatetic and private teaching.
She participates in many and diverse areas of solo vocal performance, most recently as
Ďcountertenorí in Bernsteinís The Lark and Ďtrebleí in Roxanna Panufnikís Westminster Mass,
but more conventionally as mezzo soprano/alto soloist in Elgarís The Music Makers,
Rossiniís Stabat Mater and La Petite Messe Solenelle, Rutterís Feel the Spirit and
Bachís Christmas Oratorio, as well as recitals in a broad range of musical styles and genres around Leeds.
Kathryn continues to sing with the St Peterís Singers, based at Leeds Parish Church,
combining her huge interest in choral singing with her expertise in solo performance.
Kathrynís recent activities in the role of musical director include the popular musical
Oliver, for the young people of the Leeds Parish of Seacroft, and also as director
of music at St Paulís, Whinmoor, on a weekly basis. Her busy schedule also includes regular
peripatetic voice training and singing lessons at various high schools and colleges, including
Ampleforth College and Leeds University.
This seasonís engagements include the performance of Mendelssohnís St Paul. She is also planning a solo recital
at the Venue, within the City of Leeds College of Music. Kathryn also still finds the time to participate in two
folk bands and to swim as often as possible.
